Privacy Policy

Capturo Studio is a product of Capturo Ventures LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India, which is the data fiduciary for the personal data described below under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Capturo, we collect the following information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account.
• Profile Information: Professional details including bio, skills, location, portfolio images, and pricing that you choose to share publicly.
• Billing Information: The plan you are on and a record of payments you have made to us. Plans are paid by bank transfer or UPI; we do not collect or store card details.
• Photos & Media: Images you upload to galleries, portfolios, and projects.
• Usage Data: How you interact with our platform, pages visited, features used, and device information.
• Face Data: To let a guest find their own photos, we compute a numeric description of each face in a gallery's photos and compare it with the selfie the guest takes. This runs on our own servers. See section 4.
• Guest Details: If a photographer asks guests for a name, email or mobile number before showing a gallery, we store what the guest enters and show it to that photographer.
• Mobile App Permissions: The Capturo Studio app asks for the camera (to take a selfie or capture photos) and your photo library (to upload photos and to save the ones you download). It uses them only when you start those actions.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our photography marketplace platform
• To display your public profile and portfolio to potential clients
• To process bookings, invoices, and payments
• To enable AI features including face recognition in Smart Gallery
• To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, invoice reminders, password resets)
• To improve our services and user experience
• To prevent fraud and ensure platform security

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Photos and media are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 with encryption. We use industry-standard security measures including:

• SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
• Hashed passwords using bcrypt (we never store plain-text passwords)
• JWT-based authentication with token expiry
• Rate limiting to prevent brute-force attacks

4. Face Recognition

Face search runs on Capturo's own servers. We do not send photos or selfies to a third-party face recognition service.

• Face data is used only to match a guest with their photos in the gallery they opened
• The selfie a guest takes is used for the search and is not kept as a photo
• The face data of a gallery is deleted when the photographer deletes that gallery
• We do not sell face data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising
• A guest who does not want to use face search can still browse the gallery

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service Providers: Google Drive (photo storage, in the studio's own Drive or ours), Hostinger (servers and email), Vercel (website hosting), and WhatsApp when a studio chooses to send documents through it — only as needed to operate the platform
• Public Profile: Information you choose to make public (profile, portfolio) is visible to all users
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your personal information
• Make your profile private at any time
• Delete your account and all associated data — in the app or on the website under Settings → Security, or by following the steps on our account deletion page
• Request a copy of your data
• Opt out of marketing communications

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (JWT stored in a secure, httpOnly cookie that JavaScript cannot read) and a CSRF protection cookie. We use Google Analytics for understanding usage patterns. No advertising cookies are used.

8. Children's Privacy

Capturo is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
